My dear Marsh,
October 25th, 1921.
SI JAMES'S PALACE.S.W.
The Prince of Wales has seen the
Governor of Hong Kong's telegram, dated the 20th instant, giving an outline programme for the visit, and quite approves of it. His Royal Highness would like to be given an opportunity of seeing the school children and Boy Scouts, and would prefer to stay
at Government House rather than in the ship.
We will, of course, communicate the names of the
staff direct to the Governor at a later date, and
will then arrange how many people he can put up.
while the rest can remain on board.
I am afraid I know very little about the University of Hong Kong, and have no time now to go and talk to anyone about it. The Prince would, however. desire to leave this request to be settled by the Colonial Office, so if you think it is a good thing please accept the Honorary Degree on His Royal Highness's behalf. The Frince has already received a small number of Honorary Degrees from various Universities in the Dominions.
Yours sincerely,
1.Marsh, Esqre., C.B., C.M.G.,
Godfrey Thomas.
